Managing Director HSI Holding GmbH – Strategy Execution Consulting

Since 2014 Herbert Illgner is Managing Director of HSI Holding GmbH a Germany based firm which is investing in other companies and helps them to execute on their strategies. Herbert is an Associate Partner of Dreams and Details Academy with a focus on Strategy Execution.

From 2014 to 2019 Herbert was leading SAP DBS Strategic Project Unit responsible for  development of standardized offerings for customers to migrate from OP to Cloud. SAP Transformation Navigator which was developed as part of that effort won the prestigious Hasso Plattner founders award in 2018.

From 2011 – 2013 Herbert was the Chief Process Officer. In his role, he ensured effective and efficient execution of SAP’s strategy, programs, and processes across all board areas and organizations.

Between 2009 and 2011, Herbert Illgner was Chief Operating Officer for SAP Products & Solutions. Prior to that, he had the COO role in other organizations such as SAP NetWeaver and ByDesign starting in 2005.

Between 2003 and 2005, he was head of SAP’s Production Unit and responsible for SAP’s Product Innovation Lifecycle, which describes how SAP invents, produces and manages products throughout their lifetime from invention to multiple releases.

Prior to this role, Herbert held the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the SAP Group and also served as Head of the Software Factory from 1999 to 2003. Herbert was actively involved in setting up the R/3 Software Factory. He also took over global responsibility for SAP Support with the responsibility of procuration.

Herbert joined SAP in 1993. He started his career with IBM Germany as a developer and product manager for application software.

Herbert studied business management and data processing at the Stuttgart University of Cooperative Education.
